The Cromwell Las Vegas Highlights
HISTORICAL EVOLUTION
The property’s origins trace back to March 2, 1979, when it debuted as the Barbary Coast Hotel and Casino. Established by Michael Gaughan, the Barbary Coast featured Victorian-inspired décor and quickly became a favored destination for both locals and tourists. Over the years, the property underwent several ownership transitions:
-
2004: Boyd Gaming acquired the Barbary Coast as part of its purchase of Coast Casinos.
-
2007: Harrah’s Entertainment (later rebranded as Caesars Entertainment) took ownership, renaming it Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall and Saloon in honor of the company’s founder, Bill Harrah.
-
2013: The property closed for extensive renovations, culminating in its grand reopening in 2014 as The Cromwell Hotel Las Vegas.

GIADA – THE RESTAURANT
Celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis has opened her first-ever restaurant, GIADA inside The Cromwell Hotel. The menu consists of Italian cuisine with refreshing, Californian influences. Menu items include lemon spaghetti, chicken cacciatore, marsala herb chicken meatballs, rosemary focaccia and lemon flatbread and vegetable Bolognese rigatoni. GIADA adds a lighter touch to her dishes, all while staying true to classic Italian recipes. Desserts, like the lemon ricotta cookies and sorbets, serve as the perfect ending. GIADA features an antipasto station, a first for Italian eateries on the Strip.
CURIOS – SHOPPING
Curios is way beyond your average gift shop. Its unique Las Vegas shopping vibe feels like a 1940s train stop with its high-vaulted ceilings, leather adorned walls, newspaper-print tile and distressed wooden planks. But the merchandise is far from dated.
DRAI’S POOL
Drai’s Pool located inside The Cromwell Hotel is situated on a rooftop deck, 11 stories above the Strip. Take in the spectacular Las Vegas views and enjoy drink service while lounging around the palm tree-lined pool. A full bar is available as well as an extensive menu of bites from Drai’s Cafe. Take your pool experience to the next level and book a cabana or bungalow. Read more about the Pool at the Cromwell.
